In an era dominated by passing fads and regurgitated sounds; there exists a special defier of the odds. Professionally, he goes by the name Dizzee Rascal and hails from the rough streets of London,England. He’s been recognized on some of the highest musical platforms, including a Mercury Prize in 2003 for his debut “Boy in the Corner”. His sixth studio album “Raskit” gives us a look into the evolution of the Grime legend.

This time around Dizzee chose to do the bulk of his day to day work at Miami’s premier recording facility, Bay Eight Studios. He enlisted the assistance of A-list producer “Cardo Got Wings” on several tracks including the smash single “Bop N Keep It Dippin”. Dizzee also turned to longtime engineer and friend Matthew “Formatt” Defreitas to treat his vocals in our iconic A Room. This process included going through a Neumann U87 mic, Avalon 737 and of course a classic SSL console.

Relive the experience with a visit to Bay Eight Recording Studios.
